Good Rest Stop

We stopped for a rest in October while driving from Victoria to Port Alberni. It's a nice little spot for a stretch and to enjoy a coffee (if you bought one at Tim's!) There's some washrooms, and places to spread a blanket and sit a bit. You can walk the small beach. Bring your own stuff, and enjoy the view!

If you are drive through Ladysmith, this is a really good park for a little rest or spending some more time there.
The fall time is pretty as well.
It's a wide open park with big lawn, beach, play ground, water park and new restrooms.
If you have little kids travel with you, this park will make them so happy. The location is perfect for a rest since it is only 2 minutes away from the highway.
You can grab some very good baked goods from Old Town Bakery in the downtown of Ladysmith and have a picnic there. It's only 3 minutes drive between two places.

Such a beautiful beach, with a splash pad, play equipment, water access. It's beautifully cared for, washrooms onsite are always clean, lots of parking. Great place to spend a summer/spring/fall day

Transfer Beach is a very beautiful place! It has a great park for the kids, picnic shelters to use, plenty of benches and tables to rest at, a nearby marina, lots of fields and public washrooms. Many people go there to swim, some year round. It's a 5 minute walk from downtown, or you can drive and park in one of the many lots.

The old tracks run past the park, and those look pretty cool! You can follow them to the old train station as you walk north.

There is plenty to do here year round, if there isn't anything going on the view is amazing! If you're lucky, you may even see a pod of whales pass by.

We were very surprised to find such a beautiful place. I actually took a wrong turn trying to find the marina to walk my doggie. Now it's a regular destination.
