I have been taking my car to this location since 1996. Through many different cars I have always received excellent service and professionalism. It is very reassuring to know when you drop off your vehicle you can trust what is being suggested without any extras. I have even been encouraged to check with the dealer to determine if some things were covered under my extended warranty before leaving my vehicle for work to be done on it.

I recently visited this shop for an oil change and safety inspection after moving from another province. My car had been fully inspected and serviced in Ontario, with parts replaced, so I knew everything was in great condition. However, they tried to scam me from the start.

They claimed my brakes weren’t in good condition but said they would pass the inspection for the brakes anyway. Then they insisted that a front link needed to be replaced, even though I had just replaced it. Despite knowing my car was fine, they told me they would fail the inspection unless I agreed to the unnecessary repair. I realized they were trying to take advantage of me, especially since I was new to the area, but I refused to fall for it.

On top of that, the receptionist was incredibly rude and made racist remarks. When I mentioned my car had been inspected in Ontario, she snapped back, “This is not Ontario.” She treated other customers with respect, but was dismissive and condescending towards me. The mechanic who brought my keys back also gave me unfriendly looks, making me feel uncomfortable.

To add insult to injury, I ended up paying for a failed inspection certificate simply because I refused their scam. This place is unprofessional, disrespectful, and takes advantage of customers. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

If you have cash to waste this is the perfect place to take your car.

I took my vehicle in to get a brake fluid leak fixed and they came back to me saying it was going to be around $1,900.00. They noticed that my MVI was going to expire at the end of the month so they quoted me another $6,000.00 to get the rest done. When I came back to pick up the paperwork for the diagnostics they said my hand brake wasn’t functional…got it towed and the tow trucker said it work perfectly.

They also told me that I shouldn’t of bought used car and should’ve got it inspected before I purchased it…I owned the car for 2 years.

Anyways, took my car down the road to Canadian Tire and they got my brakes and MVI done for $1,500.00.

In my opinion these guys are just money hungry and dishonest mechanics.

Worst service ever received in Halifax.
Last week Friday, I took my car for MVI inspection, they did not even check properly and rejected my car with the reason driver side window not working and exhaust leakage. When I picked up my car I checked my driver side window working properly and same day itself I took my car to other mechanic to fix exhaust leak. Mechanic confirmed no leakage at all, even though he opened and fixed again properly. Monday morning 8am I called them for re inspection, they intentionally give appointment after 10days so that they can charge again fee from me, I told them window working properly and no leakage ( for exhaust they told me $300 to fix it) that’s why I did take my car to other mechanic. Because I did not fix issue with them they want to charge again MVI fee. They intentionally taking extra money from customers. Those 2 things for checking they need 10 days time. Friday, I picked up car Saturday and Sunday they closed that’s why early morning on Monday I called them for appointment to finish before 10days but they said no appointments so you have to pay another fee.

I never go this place again, Rude service and worst experience.

Super fast and efficient service. They told me everything that needed to be done and offered to do it there during my appointment. The lady at the front desk was especially kind and welcoming. I’m going to come back for sure.

Very nice and efficient service. The people at this location do a great job and are really friendly. They also have very fast free Wi-Fi and there are a couple of places just next door where you can get coffee or a quick bite to eat.

Being new to the area, we asked around for an honest and reliable mechanic, and were told to try Speedy in Spryfield.

The folks at Speedy safety certified our vehicle, completed an oil change and replaced the brake pads for a fair price. When another issue arose shortly thereafter, they were super diligent in finding the source of the problem and fixing it.

From start to finish, I was happy with the mechanics, their workmanship, and the total customer service experience. Thank-you, Speedy Halifax South!
