I've come here for the last 6 years for service on my Cayman and have decided to bring my car elsewhere now.

I would like to start off by saying that their technical work is excellent. They are very thorough and ensure things are done right. The reason that I am going elsewhere is because the experience, communication, and pricing have become frustrating to deal with over the last few years. Maybe it's because James stopped working the front desk as often?

Here are some examples of frustrating scenarios in the last few visits.

1. Frequently, calls are not picked up. When they are, simple matters such as booking a service appointment requires them to call me back later after figuring out availability, often hours later. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's problematic given that they're only open during typical working hours which means taking a call from them suddenly could be inappropriate at my job. On top of that, often, they forget to call back.

2. The pricing for their services have increased dramatically. While prices have gone up everywhere, it seems excessive to me that it now costs more here than it does at a Porsche dealership.

3. I was informed that my rear left shock failed and needed to be replaced but was not an immediate need. I asked them how much it would cost and was met with responses such as "It depends on what parts you want.", "I'd have to look up how much the parts cost." This is unprofessional. As the expert I'm seeking advice from, you should be giving me options, explaining them, and quotes for the choices. After doing my best to get any useful information out of them, they quoted me 5.5k. Compare this to when I called a different well known Porsche shop and gave them my VIN, within 15 minutes they emailed me a detailed quote for 2.5k using OEM parts and labour. I had it done there instead.

4. After my rear left shock failed but before I had that repaired, I noticed my car displaying odd driving characteristics in a way that felt unrelated to the failed shock. I brought it in and asked them for an alignment check. Usually, getting the alignment itself after the check is standard, since they already have the car on the machine and the check is a part of the entire job, making it cheaper as a whole if you needed it. They told me my alignment was out of spec but they can't align the car due to the broken shock. I felt that this should have been advised to me when I asked for the alignment check, given that they already knew the shock was broken. Basically they charged me 300 dollars for the alignment check to tell me what I already knew.

Their service used to be stellar, but I decided to take my business elsewhere after realizing I was anticipating frustration whenever I needed to contact them. I hope that they improve on the service side and revisit their pricing because I'm going to miss their quality of work.

They know their stuff, they know their cars. There is a reason you see so many lovely Porsches of all years. Yes they work on other German cars, but no doubt they are the best shop to take care of your Porsche. Old or new.

A very sad day for me was made easy by the gentlemen of Scan Automotive. Got the bad news my car was a total wright off after going over some rail road tracks. I do mean professional gent's. They know what they are talking about and give you straight up answers. I am a professional businessman my self and don't have the time to waist with grumpy or lack of knowledgeable customer service folk we can't find so often these days. If there were 10 stars for efficient professional help the men who work there would get that from me. If you are thinning of servicing your exotic pull in to the parking lot there and talk to any customer, you will hear the same thing I am expressing here now. Thanks Guys. Charlie

James and his crew helped me mount & balance new tires on my new Audi during the Winter, and did an excellent job. I am a very meticulous person - I will notice scratches and any vibrations when driving, but they were 100% spot on. A little pricier than other tire mounting shops, but you get what you pay for. They even remove old adhesive residues before balancing them.

I just bought a Range Rover from James and his teammate Scan and everything about the experience has been first class. From searching the province for the supercharged model I wanted to making sure that the delivery was smooth. If you are looking for a car that isn't on his active listings, just message him and he will find it. Looking forward to being a life long client James.
