This company was a pleasure to deal with prompt service from the time phoned to the time they left my house. I had an issue with a hinge on my garage door and the repair person showed up on time. My garage door was fixed in an hour The repair man also pointed out some upgrades that I might be interested in. It was a no pressure sales technique. I was very pleased with the job. You have a LOT of options for Garage Door repairs, servicing and/or installation if you live between Victoria and Nanaimo. A LOT! And believe me they are not all equal by any means.

I first called Garage Door Doctor Canada in 2000. They installed two new main springs and tuned up my 30 year old garage door up so it ran like brand new.

5 years later I had some binding and some hard closings and gave them another call. I was concerned they may have been sold to a different owner or company since I last called them, but I was very happy to find out the same local family still owns and runs it exclusively. I left them a message on Good Friday (a statutory holiday) going into the Easter long weekend, expecting a call back the following week. Caleb returned my call within 10 minutes on a holiday no less!

The following week he arranged a date and time that worked for me, and Mark showed up. He did a full inspection and adjustment of the door, tightened everything up, lubed what needed to be lubed, and fixed what needed to be fixed. I asked him about the nylon rollers and he told me they all looked great and none needed replacing, when I'm sure some other companies would have used that as an excuse to replace them anyway to pad the final price. He noticed my rubber seal was aging and in need of some attention, and instead of trying to upsell me to a new one, he cleaned up the one I had, secured it better and then tested everything out to make sure the door and everything was working and sealing properly. So numerous opportunities for him to upsell or pad the bill, but he did the right and honest thing, which is a VERY hard quality to find these days. My bill was reasonable and exactly what he told me it would be, barring any unforeseen issues, which he did not find.

Garage Door Doctor Canada is a fully locally owned and run family business. Everyone involved in this company know what they are doing and are all family members which means they all have a vested personal interest in running a great company with excellent customer care. You won't find some un-engaged hourly worker showing up late that is more interested in being on their phone than they are at doing the job at hand, and with a body language that says they wish there were anywhere else other than at your house to fix your stupid problem and then try and fleece you for unnecessary crap you don't need to double your bill.

These guys are true professionals and honest to a fault, love their job, and provide a top tier service to their customers. They are NOIT a large franchise corporate company that focuses on hiring good commission sales employees that don't know the job, but whose goal is to actually spend the shortest period of time at each job, with an expectation to upsell, to double or triple the bill at every opportunity.

Hiring the Garage Door Doctor Canada boys to do your repair, maintenance or installation is not only supporting a local business, you're actually getting what are probably the best in the business. Just give them a try the next time you need some garage door work done. Just once. I'm a big believer that you only have once chance to make a good first impression, and I'm quite confident you'll understand why so many other people have had the same experience with them as I have.

Great experience, called them on a Saturday and they came out to nanaimo first thing Monday morning. They replaced 2 torsion springs on my garage door with a straight forward quote which was a reasonable price. The whole job was done in an hour start to finish, no upselling no BS. Definitely would recommend this company.
